Garcia awarded national honor for FM

Airman 1st Class Serina Garcia was named the National Guard Bureau Financial Management Airman of the Year for 2025, a national-level award. Additionally, she was named the 2025 Financial Manager of the Year for the 150th Comptroller Flight, New Mexico Air National Guard. “A couple of the traits that make her extraordinary is she's super reliable. Every position she’s been in, she completely owns it,” said Capt. Steven Santistevan, Commander, 150th Comptroller Flight. “She's a phenomenal team player. She integrates really well with everyone on the team. She helps people with their programs. And lastly, she's mission-focused. She understands how the work she does today affects our resource advisors, commanders and ultimately the 150th mission.”

Lt. Col. DeGroot fini flight

Congratulations on your fini flight and happy retirement Lt. Col. Colin Degroot! After over two decades serving his country, 3,375 flight hours, 471 combat sorties, 445.6 combat hours and countless airmen led and mentored, our 150th Operations Group Commander had his final send off on December 19th 2025. From the active duty Air Force to the New Mexico Air National Guard, Degroot helped shape the rescue community and inspire airmen across the total force. 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘖𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘔𝘢𝘺 𝘓𝘪𝘷𝘦.

Christmas 2025

Santa and Mrs. Claus stopped by the 150th Special Operations Wing, New Mexico Air National Guard, during December drill to spread holiday cheer to kids of all ages. There were also games, activities and gifts to get everyone in the holiday spirit. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

Enlisted all-call

Chief Master Sgt. Michael Herrera, command chief, 150th Special Operations Wing, New Mexico Air National Guard, held an enlisted all-call during September drill. He used the forum to review fiscal year 2025, cover good order and discipline, and speak on administrative issues such as enlisted development, promotions and fitness assessments. He also recognized outstanding Airmen for their achievements during the past year. To finish the all-call, Chief Herrera brought chiefs from around the organization to the stage for a question-and-answer session, where the topics ranged from cross-training to unit culture. This will be Chief Herrera's last enlisted all-call with the wing, as he will assume the role of state command chief next.
